Summer Race League 2010 - Race Report - June
It was hot and sunny at the Summer Race League and with 20 athletes for the two teams and no extras, TDExtraordinnaire Paolo, for once, got it absolutely spot on in putting forward the best possible A team. A warm welcome to Giacomo on his very first appearance for Gloucester A and to Richard back in the racing “circus”.
On the day Gloucester A scored 211 coming 4th, overall the A team is battling in third place at 420 points with Midland A in second at 430 and Slalom Plus in fourth at 412. At the top, in their own personal SRL, are Western Counties with an already huge gap of 44 points from Midlands
Convincing performances from Richard, who after a wobbly start won all his dual races in the afternoon, Alex, the TD and David. In the U15 Emily and Georgina are fighting very hard and their results are there to show
Captain Alex totally focused on his role this time and did sterling work again in motivating and taking the team through the increasingly hot day.
Gloucester B is starting to show good potential and the TDExtraordinnaire is on the look out for future star racers. On the day, lead by Ben with 11 points, they scored a total of 74 points.
Again at the bottom of the slope the support was lead by Emily and at the top by Sarah with her team of helpers giving advice to all the skiers on the best possible chemical concoctions to put on their skis and helping littler and older at the start gate. Sarah has now been officially appointed Equipment & Material Technical Manager for the rest of the season. Good luck and keep up the good work.
It was another wonderful day at Gloucester and we are all looking forward to our next race on the 3rd of July when we will be welcoming back another of our star racer of last year!
