Summer Race League 2010 - Race Report - July
Another sunny day at the Summer Race League and Gloucester Ski Club stormed the raffle!
With Giacomo ready at the starting post, we bagged lots of the best prizes on offer. Dave Locke and his sister sprinted for the most wanted 24 cans of Budweiser and again for a sweatshirt, Nancy claimed a bottle of wine and finally Harvey won the top price, a pair of 130 racing skis.
It looked that the numbers were all falling our way and the winning was just coming and coming, well done to everybody for an amazingly successful day at the raffle.
Not so great on the skiing front, Gloucester A scored 174 points coming 5th and we now stand in 4th place trailing Western counties, Midlands and Slalom Plus. There were good performances in the timed runs from Henry: first in his age group, Georgina: fastest female on the day and Oliver King.
In the afternoon dual races Gloucester A only scored a total of 46 points out of the 90 available. The TD lost all his races and Captain Alex was distracted by his fan club as he tried to pull the team together. Good performances from Matteo and Sophie Campkin with both winning all three races.
Top of the slope support was led by Bea and Gemma, in the absence of Sarah, and Emily was providing support and encouragement at the bottom. All helping the young and adult skiers with precious advice and insight.
